Sex Offender Registry

Sex offenders target youth and child serving agencies both for work and volunteering. The State of Wisconsin maintains a Sex Offenders Registry to help keep track of known sex offenders once they are released into the community.  Here are some important things to know about the registry:

  • You are able to search the Web site by name or location.
  • You still need to do a more comprehensive search since the registry is only for the State of Wisconsin and will not include convictions from other states.
  • Most offenders who may want to work or volunteer for your organization have not been caught yet, and will not be listed. Making a search is not a replacement for having good policies in place.
  • The registry is not a hot line to report sexual abuse.

Visit the  State of Wisconsin's Sex Offender Registry for more information.

Awareness to Action is a program of Children's Service Society of Wisconsin with funding provided by Children's Hospital and Health System's Child Abuse Prevention Fund and the Wisconsin Children's Trust Fund.
